Professional Services

Business Advice

As a Chartered Accountant with many years of professional and business experience, we find that our commercial finance clients have benefited from and appreciated our business and financial advice.  Our experience has been that the perspective of a third party, such as us, is invaluable to the SME Owner who often has no one inside their organization to whom they can turn.

While this advice is provided at no extra charge as part of the funding process, we have sometimes found that clients require a more extensive commitment from us and it is necessary to formalize this service and offer a distinct and separate business advisory service to all our clients and contacts, even those who do not need financing. Our fee for this service is a fixed monthly retainer.  The fees are negotiated on an individual basis and are less than you might think.

Accounting

Why You Need An Accountant

A good accountant is generally the quarterback of your advisory team. He or she is generally the first member of your advisory team that you will turn to for business advice.  You will need an accountant that speaks the language of the small-business owner, not accountant talk. An accountant will help monitor the financial health of your business, helping you avoid business risks and reduce taxes paid.  The accountant will complement your management team to ensure your business decisions are based on sound advice and good planning.  An accountant who is familiar with your type of business can also provide invaluable insight and assistance in reviewing your business plan.

Legal

Why You Need A Lawyer

In the famous words of the “FRAM” oil filter man, “pay me now or pay me later” or “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.  A few dollars spent upfront to get the right legal advice avoids $1,000s of dollars later when you find yourself in a legal quagmire—in other words, a legal mess.

Business Plans

What Is A Business Plan?

A business plan (“Business Plan”) is a written summary of what you hope to accomplish by being in business (i.e. your goals), how you intend to organize your resources to meet your goals.  It is a road map of where you want to go in your business, the various routes you will take, the various stages along the way and most importantly, where you will be when you have arrived at your destination.

Website

Why Does YOUR Business Need A Website?

Having a website is like opening a door and inviting potential customers into your business.  Your site communicates with prospects and customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Even when you aren’t at work, your website is.  Potential customers can browse at their leisure.  Your website expands your reach.
People from across the street and around the world have access to your products and services from the comfort of their own space.

Marketing

A marketing consultant is a very skilled professional who understand analysis, what motivates consumers and how to put strategies in place to improve business. It’s very important to understand that marketing consultants are not just ad agencies or advertising executives. While creating ads and tag lines will be part of a marketing consultant’s job, there is much more that’s involved.

Human Resources / Health & Safety

We help you protect and care for your most important capital, your “human capital”.  Our strategic partner allows you to outsource your human resource and health and safety functions at a fraction of the cost of an in-house team.  The rules and regulations governing these functions are complicated and change frequently.  As a small business owner you have neither the time nor the expertise to keep up to date, so let our strategic partner look after the details giving you time to see the big picture.
